Overview
Mobile broadband gives us the freedom to recieve internet access anywhere we desire without wires, providng a data signal is present. All we need to achieve this is a small usb device we plug into our PC or laptop to obtain superfast internet access at speeds comparable or faster than your wired home connection. Delivery of the signal is from mobile phone masts and network coverage is collectively 90% of the UK, although all areas are not covered by all providers and some homework is required to find which network covers your area (we discuss this here) Your connection speed is also dependant upon where you live, there are various mobile broadband speeds available in the UK,
3G up to 384kbps download and 64 kbps upload,
HSDPA (up to) 1.8 - 7.2 Mbps download and 384 kbps upload
HSUPA which has the same download speed as HSDPA but faster upload speeds of up to to 5.7 mbps.
